MONTHLY CHAPTER ACTIVITY & ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT FOR JANUARY 2025

The UAP Qatar Chapter commenced the year 2025 with a strong commitment to professional growth, collaboration, and community engagement. Kicking off the month, the chapter continued its Special Professional Licensure Examination (SPLE) Free Review Assistance on January 3, 2025, at The Hub, Royal Plaza, Doha, Qatar. Led by Ar. Leah Bianan, this initiative provided structured and comprehensive review sessions to prepare aspiring architects for the upcoming board exams.

 

On January 9, 2025, the 8th Board of Directors (BOD) Executive Meeting took place at The Hub, Royal Plaza, gathering 12 attendees. The meeting served as a platform to reflect on the organization’s past achievements and plan for the remaining fiscal year, ensuring the continued growth and success of the chapter.

 

Further reinforcing its leadership engagement, Chapter President Ar. Jayson Santos attended the District Director Regular Meeting on January 11, 2025, via Zoom. This meeting provided an opportunity to align chapter activities with the broader goals of the organization and facilitate collaboration among district leaders.

 

The chapter also strengthened its ties with allied professional organizations by participating in the PPOQ First General Meeting of 2025 on January 13, 2025, at Aspire Zone, Sports Accelerator. Attended by Chapter President Ar. Jayson Santos and Secretary Ar. Joan De Guzman, the event introduced the new PPOQ Chairman, Mr. Alvin Polido, and outlined his vision for the organization in the coming year.

 

As part of its preparations for a successful 6th General Membership Assembly (GMM), the chapter conducted a Casa Milano Meeting and Venue Visit on January 13 and 19, 2025, at Casa Milano Showroom, Doha, Qatar. This initiative ensured a well-organized and impactful gathering for members.

The ANA Meeting, held on January 16, 2025, at Café Vergnano, Doha, Qatar, focused on strategizing the chapter’s bid for the Annual National Award. This session was crucial in highlighting the UAP Qatar Chapter’s strengths, achievements, and readiness to host a prestigious national event.

 

On January 17, 2025, the CSSW Orientation and MOU Signing took place at Philippine School Doha (PSD). The event, in collaboration with the Philippine Professional Organization – Qatar (PPOQ), aimed to provide Grade 12 students with valuable insights into the architectural profession. Following the MOU signing, UAP Qatar representatives engaged with aspiring architecture students, offering guidance on career paths and professional development.

 

Ensuring the success of the upcoming 5th General Membership Meeting (GMM), the chapter conducted a GMM Preparation & Dry Run on January 22, 2025, at Wyndham Grand Doha Hotel. This session allowed organizers, speakers, and facilitators to fine-tune event logistics, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees.

 

On January 24, 2025, the 5th GMM and CPD Seminar Workshop was successfully held at Wyndham Grand Doha Hotel and Online, gathering 110 participants. Themed "Revit Essential Workshop: A Beginner’s Guide," the event offered 3 CPD points and provided attendees with essential knowledge on Autodesk Revit, a crucial tool in modern architectural design and Building Information Modeling (BIM). As part of its community outreach, the chapter also welcomed Grade 12 students from Philippine School Doha, inspiring the next generation of architects.

 

Demonstrating its commitment to sustainability, the UAP Qatar Chapter collaborated with WELLKINS Hospital for an E-Waste Disposal Campaign. A meeting on January 26, 2025, at WELLKINS Hospital, Doha, Qatar, set the stage for an initiative aimed at promoting responsible waste management and environmental conservation.

 

The chapter further engaged in professional networking by attending the Casa Milano Anniversary Celebration on January 29, 2025, at Casa Milano Showroom, Salwa Road, Doha, Qatar. Seventeen chapter members joined the event, fostering stronger ties with industry partners and staying updated on the latest architectural trends.

 

Closing the month, the SPLE Review with PIEP and UAP National took place on January 31, 2025, at The Hub, Royal Plaza, Doha, Qatar. This session provided participants with an in-depth discussion on Environmental Planning, equipping them with essential knowledge on sustainable practices in architecture and urban design.

 

On the same day, the chapter actively participated in the UAP-PPOQ CSSW Activity, held via Zoom. This event provided Grade 12 students with an opportunity to gain insights into the field of architecture, featuring lectures from esteemed professionals. Topics covered included Building Utilities, History of Architecture, Space Planning and Interior Design, and Building Technology, offering a well-rounded introduction to the discipline.

 

Through these diverse and impactful activities, the UAP Qatar Chapter reinforced its dedication to professional development, sustainability, and community service. By fostering collaboration, supporting aspiring architects, and staying at the forefront of industry advancements, the chapter continues to strengthen its role as a pillar of architectural excellence in Qatar.
